Today’s post makes us so giddy inside that we’re not sure how to spill it! As you may or may not know, aside from photography we also have an online shop that features handmade paper products! Our shop, Collections by K+B was created one winter on a whim, and we’ve been slowly building and changing it ever since. It wasn’t until recently that the word started getting out locally, so you can only imagine how excited we were when we were approached through our Etsy shop by Michelle from MK Studio. Michelle’s vision was to create a unique shopping experience featuring local designers who work with paper! The products would be presented in a boutique setting in a month long pop up shop! Gah, we couldn’t wait to say yes! At that time, our products had only been available online, so not only did we not know what to expect, but we were so honored to have been asked.
Fast forward a few months, a lot of planning, even more hours of preparing and putting our hands to work on the products that would be a part of the shop, we are so so excited to finally be able to share the news that the shop is open! Located in the Chicago Design Market on the 3rd floor of Block Thirty Seven (108 N State St – 3rd Fl, Suite 1), MISC is an absolute dream come true! The shop is open for the entire month of July (crazy how it is already half over!), July 5-29 – Tuesday-Sunday from 11am-7pm.
We finally had the opportunity to stop by the shop last week and it was a complete out of body experience to not only spot our products in the shop, but to see them among some of the designers that we have personally been admiring for awhile now. We love how our products fit so well with the overall aesthetics of the shop and we couldn’t be happier with how MK Studio’s vision has come to life! Some of the amazing designers with their works in the shop include Allie Hasson paper goods, Sugar darling & co., humble + stone, looploft, paper doll time, collections by k+b, evermore paper co., hello paper co., @helloimfelix, letter loft, a. favorite design, mischief maker – a party shop, bash, morganmariemakes, Felis Major Print & Paper, and Brian Bailey.
The products that we chose to feature in the shop are the die cut greeting cards and pastel party garlands. These have been some of our favorite products in our shop, so naturally we chose to include them at the shop. Our die cut greeting cards are simple, yet to the point. We like to keep things simple over here, and we wanted to create a set of cards that reflects that as well. All of the cards are white with a die cut greeting on the front. A pop of color on the inside of the card reveals the greeting through the die cut, as you’ll see below in some of the photos.
As for our paper garlands, they are all hand cut and folded in shapes like paper airplanes, party hats, and geometric shapes and just a couple of them are on display on the back wall. We even created a kit to build your own garland of 3D gems! Not only are our garlands perfect for parties, but they work well as decor for your office space! Not all of the garlands are on display, so you’ll have to check out the shop to see them all for yourself!
Garlands galore! They’re all neatly packaged and ready to display…or in the case of the 3D gem kits…to build!
Isn’t this card wall amazing! We love the string art and how it is incorporated throughout the shop!
Those are our paper airplane and 3D gem garlands next to the awesome MISC string art!
We love how well our cards and garlands pair with the string art! Yay!
Hi!!! Check out the die cut on that card! 😉
I’m sorry, but this die cut card is just too cute for words.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking our virtual tour.
We hope you enjoyed the mini virtual tour of MISC. We would love if you stopped by and if you do, let us know! We’d love to hear how you liked it!
