When a wedding planner is planning her daughter’s 4rd birthday party, you can only expect that every detail will be on point. Let me tell you, Amy of Antique Bridal Events knocked her daughter’s flamingo party out of the park! I knew from the moment she contacted us to photograph the party that it was going to be the party of the summer and when I arrived, it was even more adorable than I had anticipated!
When I walked into the party, the first thing I spotted was the flamingo cake, which was made by Cakes By Bee. It was simple, yet absolutely perfect for the party’s theme. The flamingo was hand painted onto the front of the cake, and the detail on that little thing was amazing! It also matched the flamingo on the party invitations perfectly!
While I was at the sweets table, it was hard to stop photographing each and every detail. Every single one of the sweets were cuter than the next and even though they were all made by different vendors, they all looked amazing as a whole. We hadn’t seen cake pops in shapes other than just the plain circles before, so we were pretty in awe of the pineapple and flamingo shaped ones made by Sweet Pops By Cindy. We were also stunned at how beautiful the pineapple and flamingo cookies by Gimme Sugar Creative Cookies looked. They looked too perfect to eat, really! Lastly, we can’t forget about the pink flamingo cupcakes! We loved how Amy even found a way to incorporate flamingos into the cupcakes. The cupakes were also made by Gimme Sugar Creative Cookies, so if you’re looking for a one stop shop for cookies and cupcakes, you’ll have to check them out!
Moving on to the rest of the party (told ya, we spent a little too much time at the sweets table…naturally!), Amy didn’t miss a beat when it came to the tableware either. We really loved how the paper cups and napkins had little pops of gold on them along with the pink flamingos. It added a nice touch! We also really loved the flamingo wine glasses that held straws and drink sticks. We might need one of those for ourselves!
Let’s not forget about the star of the show (besides Emma, that is!), a balloon arch! Amy made this by hand using balloons that matched the color scheme of the party. We love how she added in the greenery to create a more tropical feel to a traditional balloon arch! We have to say it really created a beautiful focal point for the overall party. We couldn’t stop checking it out as we walked by through out the party!
If you thought that was the end of the details, you were wrong. Once we got to the backyard, more tropical details were just waiting to be photographed. So yes, get excited! Amy completely transformed her backyard into a tropical paradise! From the pineapple cups with flamingo straws, to the floral arrangements inside of pineapples, created by Boux Box, the tables were neatly decorated with all sorts of tropical goodies. Amy even created her own flamingo centerpieces out of paper flowers, glitter paper and wooden dowels. How cute?? She also cut all of the paper leaves that lined the tables.
One of our favorite parts about the backyard was the cute “ALOHA” message created out of giant gold letter balloons. It really helped transform the space and welcomed guests in an inviting way.
Speaking of all the DIY projects, there’s one more that we were stunned to hear were created by Amy herself! The flamingo goodie bags! Yessss, can you believe it?? Amy is one crafty gal, if we do say so ourselves!
Let’s not forget the reason for the party, miss Emma! This little beauty was excited to invite us into her party and let us takes some photos of her before it all began. She really is the sweetest and quite the little model! Of course, she was wearing her flamingo attire for the occasion, and we think this little romper was the perfect choice!
Now that we’ve covered all the details, you’ll be able to see all the fun and games that were involved in this party! From the bounce house by Fly High Bounce, to the flamingo pool, flamingo toss, flamingo piñata, sand box, and even face painting, we think it is safe to say that if the kids didn’t have fun they weren’t trying! lol. As a kid we would’ve loved to attend a party like this! We’re even happy we got to photograph one! 🙂
Thank you again, Antique Bridal Events, for inviting us! We had the best time photographing the party of the summer!
